Reegan: A 1st Birthday Party at Home
My old friend Heather was home for the weekend, so I took family pictures for her on Saturday and took pictures at her Goddaughter's first birthday party on Sunday. It was a great weekend full of awesome pictures! Meet Reegan.
Reegan turned one on July 17th. Seeing this little girl pulled at my heart strings a little more than normal because I know I'll have a little girl this big in 8 months. It's amazing how fast they grow!
I know you want to see more pictures of Reegan... they're coming. First, though, I have to show you the details that went into this party! Kylee, Reegan's Mama, had this party planned down to the last detail. The theme? A Very Hungry Caterpillar.
When you entered the backyard, the balloons were hung to look like the caterpillar.
She had skittles in jars to follow the story of the book.
The drinks met the theme.
The food met the theme, and look closely, she poked holes into every.piece.of.fruit to make it look like the caterpillar ate through. Yup, seriously! How cool!
And of course, the cake. What party would be complete without an awesome cake!
Okay, the details were awesome, but let's get to some pictures of this little girl and her family! Before the party started, we snapped a few family shots.
Of course, I had to get shots of Reegan with her brother...
... her dad (Ooooh how I love dads throwing their babies in the air! The giggles are priceless!)
... and her mom.
Oh! And, her puppy Abby!
Something I loved about Kylee, is she knew a few photos that she definitely wanted, whether it was a walking family shot or the one below. She had said "Why don't we get one with my wedding rings on her toes?" I thought, "sure, why not?" We've seen the cute baby pictures with the wedding bands on their feet, but THIS shot means more. You know why? Because Reegan's Daddy proposed to her Mommy on the day Reegan was born by slipping the engagement ring on her little baby toes. They were married this past May and now they are not only celebrating Reegan's first birthday, but also a year since their engagement. How cute!
I heard several people comment that she's a ham. Want to know why?
Is she not the most adorable one year old you've ever seen??
When I was snapping some pictures of her, she walked right up to me with this face, asking for me to pick her up. How could I resist? The camera immediately came down from my face and I enjoyed holding the birthday girl per her request.
What first birthday is complete without a cake smash? Well, bad news, there was no cake smash! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to stay for it so we got some shots of Reegan next to her smash cake and it took a lot to keep her from digging in! Though, I was told when it came time to smash it, she only "gingerly" touched it and that was it!
Reegan, Kylee, Tom and family, thank you so much for having me take pictures of Reegan's special day!
Happy Birthday, Reegan!
