Emily + Weston {married!}: Bear Creek Wedding

I was not fully prepared for how emotional this wedding day would be. Truly, it completely blind sided me. Emily and Weston are so calm and easy together. They just fit. Being around them is comfortable. On their wedding day, I arrived in Emily's room and she was calmer than anyone else. Even preparing for the first look, she was just calm. Excited, but calm. Weston was the same way. With them being this way, I naturally expected the entire day to feel this way.

Boy was I wrong. I'm not sure why I didn't see it coming. You see, Emily's dad passed away years ago. I knew this. I knew her uncle would be walking her down the aisle, I knew her brother would be taking their dad's place during the "parent dance"... I knew all of this. But man, this was hard. This was hard, and sad, and beautiful.

I also knew that Weston's best man would be in a wheel chair. What I did not know was how this happened. An accident left him handicapped. Weston and his best man grew up as best friends from middle school an beyond. They went through it all together. Since the accident, he's never had the same friend again, but thank God he's actually here. Having him in this role for the day was so incredible. Then, his speech. Reminiscing about their memories as young men, boys even. Both grieving those days. Then Weston helping him turn the page.

Honestly, people, it took everything to not cry the entire day. It was so beautiful and full of love and laughter. It was simply the perfect day.

Emily and Weston, thank you so much for choosing me to document this day of yours. It was such an honor.
